Water Level Sensor
The System Studies Water Level Sensor™ is an electronic contactor device that is housed in a 3/4-inch by 4-inch protective nickel-plated copper cylinder. Designed for installation in a central office sump or along the base of a central office wall, the water level sensor provides an early indication of the presence of water.
To allow water to be detected as quickly as possible, the bottom end of the cylinder is unsealed and a 1/4-inch by 1/8-inch slit from the open end upward is provided. Attached to the contactor device inside the cylinder are two rigid metal probes which sample moisture at the device's point of installation. Like other monitoring devices, this moisture sensing device is wired to an office monitor, such as a 289H Loop Surveillance System (LSS)™ or uM260 Micro Monitor™, over a single pair of conductor wires.
